American Apparel Peacock Fauxnad

Lately I’ve been on a Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure kick. I’ve been trying to layering it over any color that I think might look good. That’s good and bad at the same time. Good: it’s beautiful. Bad: it’s very hard to find a ‘nad that won’t look to busy with it. Here’s a Funky French that worked out okay (though I think it looks way more busy in real life).

Sally Hansen Spectrum featuring Smart Nails

I’m back! So I figured I would come back with a non-’nad post! I decided to pick up some Smart Nails stencils because there was particularly one of the patterns that really stood out for me. These waves are so cool!

How it works: Basically it’s like a patterned version of your favorite french tip nail guides. Stick it on your fully dried polished nail, paint, then peel it off. The consistency of the stickers are a lot like a thin, flexible version of clear contact paper.

Unfortunately, I had to use one sticker per nail (using the whole package for one mani) because the intricate curlies would get warped after I peeled it off. They were super easy to use (easier than ‘nadding!), and when you peeled of the sticker, there was little to no residue: leaving a super clean look! For the long run (at least for intricate designs like the wave), this is a lot more expensive if you’re doing nail art daily. At $2.99 per package,  it can cost  up to that much per mani. However, this is a lot easier than ‘nadding for those of you who want to spruce up your nails every now and then, this is the perfect option!

Misa Touch of Violet Konad

I just got Creative Nail Design’s new Candy Sparkle in the mail. The first thing I wanted to do was to layer it over a light color to see whether it will show up. This is awesome! It’s like mini silver flakies. Super unique and I think I’ll be layering this over all pastel colors! It’s so cool!

Make your Konad French Tip Plates to a Full Pattern!

One of my readers asked about making requests to Konad for a full-plate of a design of one of the existing French tip plates. I decided to take a stab at making the French tip design to a full design by applying the ‘nad in layers. Here’s how it turned out:

Every single time I look at this pattern, I keep not wanting to do it. Don’t ask me why… the pattern is beautiful but I guess I thought it was a little awkward to use. It turns out I was wrong! This tip is super easy to use and it turned out quite nice on the holographic finish! You will be seeing this one more!

It’s hard to find nice duochromes. DrFrankenPolish makes them so well (BTW, those of you that follow her blog, she’s back)! I had a really tough time capturing this duochrome. It’s so cool though: shifts from blue to purple! I added a Funky French on it
