Hope everyone had a great summer. Tomorrow is officially the first day of autumn! This summer really flew by and can you believe that Sasse Stamping Stampede has been around for more than a year?! Crazy!

Unforunately, I will not be able to show off Hello Kitty for a couple weeks because because I’m trying out CND Shellac. I’m going to eventually try to ‘nad with Shellac but I’m thinking it might not be successful because their top coat is quite thick. I’ll try to post a little tutorial of just the Shellac part with pictures if you guys are interested!

Revlon Cotton Candy Fauxnad

This fauxnad pattern definitely looks much better on the nail than it did on the plate. I was a little sketched about the honeycomb pattern but it turned out really nice with with Cotton Candy. By the way, the Revlon Cotton Candy is scented! It’s even scented through the topcoat! So cool! I kept catching myself sniffing my nails. Hahaha!

Sally Hansen Garnet Lapis Layering Fauxnad

Quick housekeeping update: I slightly changed the look of the blog but I tried to keep everything close to what it was before. I tried to take a stab at my banner and I think it’s okay, but it might change again. Let me know what you think!

Another thing I love to do with my polish is layering. There are just endless possibilities! In fact, if I ever divert on this blog (which I’m still contemplating on doing), it would be layering because the colors you can accomplish is amazing. With that said, I’m going to post a very cool layering combo with a holographic polish (Color Club Revvvolution) and Sally Hansen Garnet Lapis (from the Prisms collection). It shifts from blue to purple indoors/indirect sunlight and sports major bling/holo in direct sunlight. How cool!

If you can track it down and if you love to layer your polish, try to find any of the Prisms collection from Sally Hansen. I found mine on eBay at a decent enough price a year ago. I’m not sure if they still have an inventory around in the land of the evil.

To top things off, I added a holo ‘nad with it! Talk about bling overload:

Savvy Fairy Twinkle is such a pretty color (pink with a flash gold shimmer). For some reason, I had the hardest time with trying to find a good color ‘nad to go with it. I wanted to do a bronze or a gold, but that did not show up well at all. So I tried hot pink, and that was a flop too. Finally I gave up on the blending and went with the contrast.

I started to use a new base coat (well sort of base coat) called Gelous which you can get at Sally Beauty Supply. It works really good and my manis have been lasting for at least a few days. Anyway, the reason why I mention Gelous is that I use one coat over my polish then use Seche Vite Top Coat to seal it off. The next day I would ‘nad over it and put a coat of Nailtek II Intensive Therapy over it. I’ve noticed a subtle floating effect that the ‘nad has since I’ve been doing that. I think that is because of Gelous’ finish. That or I’m just losing my mind. Anyway, I wouldn’t run out to get Gelous just to get the floaty look, but if you need an awesome base coat, this is a great one. I’ve tried Nailtek II Foundation and Sally Hansen Nail Quencher and this is by far the best.

Welcome Summer

It’s better late than never right? I finally hopped on the Bundle Monster bandwagon. Sally Hansen Silver Lining Fauxnad

China Glaze Electic Lilac Fauxnad

China Glaze does it again with their glitter collection! I just love the color of this; it’s mostly purple, but sometimes it looks blurple because of the glitter. I adore this color! I added contrasting color to give the flowers a little perk. Far from fall, but who cares?

Milani Fairy Tale Fauxnad

Since Halloween is coming around, I’m going to focus the next few colors on blackened/vampy colors then come up with some Halloween mani (don’t get your hopes up though), and of course the entries from the Konad Kontest from the beginning of the month. I don’t have access to any Milanis, so I was very grateful when my friend Liz got a couple Milanis from their Halloween collection. Fairy Tale is one of them: but I added Creative Nail Design’s Ice Blue Shimmer from their effects collection. It basically turned the black to a vampy blue. VERY pretty!

Patriotic ‘nad: Zoya Divincia

As much as I dislike reds, I would be more than happy to paint them for the sake of celebrating our freedom. Sooo cheesy, I know! Yes, I took this off right after I took the photo! This is a simple stars and fireworks (I guess that’s what it is) on the thumb:

Tip of the day: if your polish has not been completely dried and you ‘nad over it, you’ll see wrinkle “lines”. You can try to smooth them out by gently “wiping” them with your thumb. Don’t worry too much about the fine lines: they’ll be covered up with the next layer of top coat anyway!
