Savvy Fairy Twinkle is such a pretty color (pink with a flash gold shimmer). For some reason, I had the hardest time with trying to find a good color ‘nad to go with it. I wanted to do a bronze or a gold, but that did not show up well at all. So I tried hot pink, and that was a flop too. Finally I gave up on the blending and went with the contrast.

I started to use a new base coat (well sort of base coat) called Gelous which you can get at Sally Beauty Supply. It works really good and my manis have been lasting for at least a few days. Anyway, the reason why I mention Gelous is that I use one coat over my polish then use Seche Vite Top Coat to seal it off. The next day I would ‘nad over it and put a coat of Nailtek II Intensive Therapy over it. I’ve noticed a subtle floating effect that the ‘nad has since I’ve been doing that. I think that is because of Gelous’ finish. That or I’m just losing my mind. Anyway, I wouldn’t run out to get Gelous just to get the floaty look, but if you need an awesome base coat, this is a great one. I’ve tried Nailtek II Foundation and Sally Hansen Nail Quencher and this is by far the best.

Mavala Riga Konad

There’s something about this rose design that made me avoid it. I think it just looked a little cheesy directly from the plate. I was so wrong! This almost works as a full finger plate for me, and it is just super cute on the nail! It reminds me of stained glass!

Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud Konad

Opulent Cloud is one of those colors that is really hard to match up a complementary ‘nad color with. I decided to just match it up with a plain black and it didn’t turn out bad at all! The m75 plate is interesting: the designs when they’re on the plate is so boring, but then when it’s applied to the nail, it’s a totally different story!

Nubar Green Tea Konad

Another reason why I like layering with the CND Effects is because it makes me “re-like” a certain color I have. I honestly didn’t care much for Nubar Green Tea. However, after layering Jade Sparkle over it, that totally changed my mind. Okay, I must confess that I’m not a cream fan either ;) The layering then really helps!

If the next few updates are going to contain CND Sugar Sparkle, it’s because I just think it’s so cool! I added Sugar Sparkle with a mid-tone denim blue and it’s just amazing! The m75 plate is growing on me. It seems pretty versatile after you get over the typical Konad flower motif :-P

Oh and I didn’t notice how horrible my cuticles look until after the photo was taken and uploaded a few days later (after it has been chipped and gross). Sorry!!!

Barry M Gray Konad

For those of you who like Creative Nail Design’s Effects collection, they just recently came out with the Sugar Sparkle (silver micro glitter). It’s simply stunning!

Sally Hansen Grape Going Konad

Creative Nail Design’s effects are quite awesome! I layered this with Creative Nail Design’s Crimson Sparkle and the color really sort of reminded me of Clarins 230! Sorry I covered it up with gold, but I think it adds a nice contrast to the purple:

Sally Hansen Teal Takeoff Konad

Last year, I found couple new Sally Hansen Insta-Dri shades that I thought were pretty cool. I’ve been trying to find something similar to Rescue Beauty Lounge Teal (because I’m cheap). While this might not be too close, I still really like the shade.

Sorry about the blurry picture (and the tipwear :( ). The weather outside sucks and this color is very pesky with flash photography! Thanks for looking!

Misa Touch of Violet Konad

I just got Creative Nail Design’s new Candy Sparkle in the mail. The first thing I wanted to do was to layer it over a light color to see whether it will show up. This is awesome! It’s like mini silver flakies. Super unique and I think I’ll be layering this over all pastel colors! It’s so cool!

Happy Easter!

Pastel colors are awesome! I seriously couldn’t decide on one color for Easter so I decided to go for the skittle look :) One of the new plates (s1o) has a bird which would work for this fun day :) I’m not sure what the “Pi” above the bird is all about so I got rid of it for this ‘Nad. Sorry about the wonky middle nail. I didn’t realize it until I looked at the picture :(
