Update

Hope everyone is doing well! Shallcin’ is going good and I’m really liking it! The process is pretty straight forward and it took a few tries to get it right but I’m likin’ it. Oh and if anyone’s wondering, my generic “Fräulein” branded eBay UV lamp works just fine with CND Shellac. No need for their special UV lamp 🙂

Yea that was a small diversion from nail art and such. With that said, what I’m about to say will probably cause a few of you to unsubscribe my blog and I 100% understand:

I’m a bit torn at the moment. It really boils down to being busy and not being as motivated to ‘nad these days. I really like helping the kommunity out with the regular Konad polish list, but at the same time, I honestly don’t think I have the drive to keep ‘nadding anymore. It really all started with a few months ago when we were working on building our outdoor living room and we were working on the curtains. I kind of fell in love with sewing so I’ve been sewing like all the time: ultimately neglecting my nails (and hence loving Shellac).

Anyway, I’m not going to shut down the blog because of the extensive Konad Kompatible regular polish list that I maintain (and still want to maintain), but at the same time, I’m not sure if you guys would even embrace a change of focus on this blog (I’ll probably post hauls, geeky gadgets, random sightings, makeup stuff, sewing projects, etc). Let me know what you guys think and if you hate me because of this change, I understand! You signed up for a ‘nad blog, not anything else. At the same time, I want to be honest and make sure that you know what’s been going on! 🙂

Thanks for your support and I hope you stick around!

  1. Go for it Sasse! I’d love to see random posts for you. Blogging should be fun and what you want to write about!

  2. Oh no… I just found this blog less than 14 hours ago and I’m hooked! I completely understand about the personal changes that have happened in your life. If you can, please leave the site up.

  3. Please say that you will at least do one last post with a shellac tutorial/process post. Especially if we can get a lamp for a reasonable price somewhere, buying everything for a shellac mani pays for itself after like three or four manicures. Salons are charging sooooooooo much for shellac.

    • That I can do 🙂 Yea I agree the salons are charging way too much! I’ll try to do a commentary on instructions from CND.

      • BTW, i totally support you decision and will continue my google reader subscription. I love blogs with quirky randomness.

  4. I’m with Kaz 😉

  5. Blog about whatever makes you happy!

  6. Go for it! We still love you, we won’t desert you 😉

  7. I’ll follow whatever. I enjoy random things as much as polish. I’d like to see what else you’re into.

  8. This post made me smile and giggle a little because I had the reverse happen to me. I used to sew and have a sewing blog, but once I got back into polishing my nails that blog went quiet. I haven’t posted there since March, and haven’t been sewing much either (my fabric collection is condemning me tho!) It’s hard to find the perfect balance because sewing can be rough on the nails. I’m hoping to get back to it, but it’s hard when one sewing project takes hours while a manicure can be done in minutes – instant gratification and no fitting issues!
    I’m staying here!

  9. You had me at geeky gadgets… Blog away! 😀

  10. Hi there. I know just how you are feeling about konad. I never have the time to commit to using the konad system anymore even though sometimes I want to.

I am asking for the shellac system for my birthday and wanted to know if you have tried doing a konad design on top of the shellac color and then sealed it with the top coat?

    • Hi Holly, Yea I was thinking about it. I think the Shellac polish itself would be thick enough to ‘nad but I think that it might smear when you put the top coat on. My next post will be Shellac related! Stay tuned 🙂
